"With this series of paintings I wanted to explore ways to describe this by simplifying something extremely complicated. Using drips of colour to create an image of two love birds I am trying to symbolise how particles come together to exist as something we recognise and can appreciate."

"These paintings attempt to achieve detail in the simplest way possible. We exist in a time when painters are on a seemingly ever increasing pursuit of finer details. Photo realism in painting presents the artist as a machine and painting like a photograph. All to impress the viewer."

"This Current Moods series is about expressing the joy of painting. Using spray paint as a young lad in the early wave of graffiti art in the UK came with so many rules. The forbidden dribbles, perfect straight lines and the infinite fades: it was about control. But I realise now, it’s actually the freedom that the paint in the spray can gave me which kept me using it to make big paintings on walls."

"For decades I have observed how spray paint hits the surface in millions of little dots of colour and these dots are all combined to create the final picture. This series of paintings is a simplified version of that experience while exploring the concept of the pointillist paintings that branched from Impressionism in 1886."

"With this work I’m trying to harness the elements using gravity and movement in various ways to achieve an image. To create these works the canvas is horizontal as opposed to the usual vertical structure. It’s almost like I’m dancing with paint. Years of practice have delivered me to the point where I’m seeking new ways of using the medium, breaking rules, disobeying the ‘how to’ videos. Here the medium itself provides the inspiration."
